Oil prices dropp in Asian trade

Oil prices dropped in Asian trade today as investors took profits from an overnight rally powered by strengthening US energy demand. New York's main contract, sweet crude was down 1.19 dollar to 94.22 dollar a barrel while Brent North Sea crude tumbled 1.00 dollar to 113.21 dollar.

Rupee depreciates by 4 paise against $

The rupee depreciated by 4 paise to Rs 44.93 against the US dollar in early trade. Dealers said dollar strength against the euro and Asian currencies overseas and a lower opening in the stock market mainly put pressure on the rupee.
