Agromet and Fishery Advisory Service information earns them economic benefit

The Agromet and Fishery Advisory Service has reaped in economic benefit to the farmers and fishermen in the country. According to an Earth Science ministry official release in Delhi, the information provided to the farming community has earned them an economic benefit of 50,000 crore rupees per year and similarly the fishermen have earned 34,000 crore rupees benefit per year. Earth System Science Organisation provides useful Agromet information to make the work of farmers and fishermen more viable. The information pertaining to potential fishing zones and weather has increased productivity thereby benefiting them. Agro-met services are now spread in 550 districts and will cover all the districts of the country next year. AIR correspondent reports, that over two million farmers are availing of this service on their mobile phones.
