Oil prices lower in Asian trade today

Oil prices were lower in Asian trade today as traders fretted over performances by the US retail and corporate sectors. New York's light sweet crude fell 27 cents to 74.68 dollars a barrel. Brent North Sea crude lost eight cents to 74.29 dollars.
