The government today launched a service for the benefit of LPG users. The objective is to provide LPG cylinders at their time of convenience of the customers on nominal charges. Launching this exclusive customer service initiative, preferred time LPG delivery to customers, petroleum minister Murli Deora said customers can get this special service at a very nominal additional delivery charges ranging from twenty five rupees to fifty rupees. He said this service will cater to most of the urban households. Maintaining the three oil marketing companies, Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum collectively have a customer base of over 11.65 crore households. The minister said annual consumption of domestic LPG in the country is growing approximately at a rate of seven per cent.The minister also said BPL families would be given a subsidy of 1400 rupees per connection.
