Sensex drift down after early gains

After recovering by over 72 points in early trade today, the BSE benchmark index Sensex was trading 126 points or 0.7 per cent down at 17,953 points a shortwhile ago.In a similar fashion, wide-based index of the National Stock Exchange, Nifty was also trading 42 points down at 5,441 points.
