Sensex Plunges 283 points, closes at 18145

The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange plunged 283 points, or 1.5 percent, to close at 18,145, today. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange lost 102 points, or 1.8 percent, to 5,505.Other Asian markets, Japan, China, Hong Kong and South Korea ended higher between 0.2 percent and 1 percent.
