Sensex up by 57 points in early trade

The BSE benchmark index, Sensex recovered by nearly 57 points in early trade today on selective buying by funds. Later sensex lost its initial gains and was trading at 18,120 down by 24 points.

Crude oil slips in early trade

Oil prices fell in Asian trade today. New York's main contract, light sweet crude for delivery in April, was down 47 cents at 105 dollars 81 cents, while Brent North Sea crude for April delivery shed 20 cents to 122 dollars 70 cents in morning trade.
