The rupee fell marginally by 5 paise to 49 rupees 27 paise against the dollar in early trade today. The fall was attributed to increased demand for the American currency from importers. Yesterday, the domestic currency had gained eight paise to close at a one-week high of 49 rupees 22 paise against the US currency.
