Oil prices fall

Oil prices fell below 73 dollars in Asian trade today as concerns over weak US economic data pervaded crude markets. New York's main contract, light sweet crude fell 37 cents to 72.99 dollars per barrel while Brent North Sea crude lost 33 cents to 74.69 dollars per barrel.

Rupee down 2 paise against US dollar

The rupee today weakened by 2 paise to 46.86 a dollar in early trade at the Interbank Foreign Exchange market. The Indian currency had ended higher by 6 paise at 46.84/85 a dollar on Thursday.Dealers said month-end demand for dollar from importers mainly kept pressure on the rupee.
