Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited, IFFCO, Managing Director Uday Shankar Awasthi said that there was no shortage of DAP fertilizer in the country. He said in Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh that in the last financial year IFFCO did a business of 16,800 crore rupees and sold 118 lakh MT of fertilizer in the country. He said to meet the requirement of complex fertilizers last year, IFFCO signed a pact with the Jordan Phosphate Marketing Company and under the pact, a state-of-the art phosphoric acid plant having a capacity of 1,500 million tonnes would be set up in Jordan. Mr. Awasthi informed IFFCO will have equity of 52 per cent in the project. He said IFFCO is setting up a dairy project at Nellore in Andhra Pradesh, with a foreign partner to produce bacteria-free milk as per international standards. He informed this plant will cater to the increasing demand for dairy products and IFFCO plans to sell these products in domestic as well as foreign markets.
