The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex today fell by 65 points in early trade. The Sensex was trading at 18,180 down by 46 points when reports last came in. Similarly, NIFTY of national stocks exchange was down by over 12 points at 5465.The fall in Sensex is due to selling by funds and retail investors in oil, banking and information technology stocks. Meanwhile, Hong Kong's Hang Seng index traded lower by 0.05 per cent, while Japan's Nikkei was down 0.87 per cent in early trade. The US Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 0.74 per cent down on Thursday.
