Centre rules out extending cap on cotton export beyond 55 lakh bales

Government has ruled out extending the cap on cotton export beyond 55 lakh bales this year. Secretary of Textiles Ministry Rita Menon said that if the production exceeds the expected mark, the cap may be revised. Cotton production is expected to be at 325 lakh bales this season.
