Quarter-final stage of FIFA World Cup begins today

The quarter-final stage of the FIFA World Cup begins this evening. France will face Uruguay at Nizhny Novgorod at 7:30 PM, while five-time winners Brazil will take on Belgium at 11:30 PM in Kazan. The remaining two last-8 matches will be played tomorrow. England will battle it out against Sweden at Samara, and hosts Russia will meet Croatia in Sochi. FIFA World Cup: Quarterfinal stage to commence from tomorrow

In FIFA World Cup, the quarterfinal stage will commence from tomorrow. In the first quarterfinal, France will take on Uruguay at Nizhny Novgorod at 7.30 pm. Brazil will meet Belgium in the second quarterfinal at 11.30 pm in Sochi. Quarterfinals line up has been finalised with the entry of Sweden and England to the last eight stage. In the final two Round of Sixteen matches yesterday, Sweden beat Switzerland one-nil at Saint Petersburg while England defeated Colombia in a dramatic penalty shoot-out in Moscow. The FIFA World Cup football competition resumed in Russia today after a day of rest, with the Round of 16 matches to decide 8 quarter-finalists.  The knock-out stage preceded 48 group stage matches.
