Dow, S&P 500 indexes rise over one and half percent

The Dow and the S&P 500 indexes rose more than one and half percent while the Nasdaq climbed more than two percent on Tuesday. The US indices log strong earnings while beaten-down big technology stocks bounced back from an Omicron-driven rout in the previous session. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 1.6 percent, the S&P 500 rose 1.8 percent and the Nasdaq Composite index jumped 2.4 percent.

Dow, S&P 500 rise after data showed US consumer price inflation slowed in last month

The Dow Jones and the S&P 500 rose yesterday after data showed U.S. consumer price inflation slowed in last month. It eased concerns that the Federal Reserve will imminently signal a scaling back of bond purchases. The data showed tentative signs that inflation in the US had peaked amid supply-chain disruptions. The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 0.6 percent and the S&P 500 gained 0.3 percent. On the other hand, the Nasdaq Composite index fell 0.2 percent.
