The Dow Jones and the S&P 500 rose yesterday after data showed U.S. consumer price inflation slowed in last month. It eased concerns that the Federal Reserve will imminently signal a scaling back of bond purchases. The data showed tentative signs that inflation in the US had peaked amid supply-chain disruptions.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 0.6 percent and the S&P 500 gained 0.3 percent. On the other hand, the Nasdaq Composite index fell 0.2 percent.
