The Pakistani Taliban have claimed responsibility for a failed attempt to assassinate the sister of Awami National Party chief Asfandyar Wali Khan in Peshawar. Militants shot at and injured Khan's sister GulalaiKhan while she was leaving her private medical clinic in Peshawar on Monday.

Today is the first day of the Holy month of Ramadan in the United Arab Emirates. This was announced by the UAE Minister of Justice Dr. Hadef Jua'an Al Daheri last evening following a meeting of moon-sighting committee. Saudi Arabia is also observing today as the first day of Ramadan.

Today is the first day of the Holy month of Ramadan in the United Arab Emirates. This was announced by the UAE Minister of Justice Dr. Hadef Jua'an Al Daheri last evening following a meeting of moon-sighting committee. Saudi Arabia is also observing today as the first day of Ramadan.
