Rupee weakens against dollar

The Indian rupee today weakened by half a percent to 47.21/22 against dollar in early trade. It closed at 46.98/99 yesterday . The weakening of rupee is due to outflow of more equity in the wake of diminishing global risk appetite. Traders said a weaker euro also weighed on the rupee.

Gold prices up by Rs 75

Gold rose 75 rupees, to 18,400 rupees per ten grams at Delhi's bullion market, on Monday, amid a firm global trend. Silver ready jumped 300 rupees, to 29,050 rupees per kilo. In the overseas markets, gold rose 12.80 dollars, to 1,189.90 dollars an ounce.
