Sensex gains 99 points; Closes at 17,977<br/>

Snapping a two-day losing streak, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange gained 99 points, or 0.6 per cent, to close at 17,977, today. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange rose 31 points, or 0.6 percent, to 5,399.Stock markets in Japan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and South Korea endex mixed.
