Oil prices down in Asian trade

Oil prices were down in Asian trade today. New York's main contract, light sweet crude for delivery in August, fell 19 cents to USD 96.01 a barrel. Brent North Sea crude for August delivery shed 39 cents to USD 117.94.

Rupee down by 7 paise against US dollar

The Indian rupee fell by 7 paise to Rs 44.39 against the US dollar in early trade today. The rupee had gained 10 paise to close at a 10-week high of Rs 44.33 against the US currency on Friday.
