Oil prices down in Asian trade

Crude oil prices edged down in Asian trade today, taking a cue from diving global equities markets. New York's main contract, light sweet crude for delivery in September, dipped 79 cents to USD 82.10 per barrel. Brent North Sea crude for September delivery fell USD 1.10 to USD 105.58.
