Gold lost 200 rupees to 28,890 rupees per ten grams in Delhi's bullion market today, on sustained selling by stockists, driven by a weakening global trend. However, silver gained 140 rupees to 55,370 rupees per kilo.In Singapore, gold fell 0.5 per cent to 1,687 dollars an ounce.

The Indian rupee lost 15 paise to Rs 52.21 per US dollar in early trade today.The rupee had closed 29 paise higher at Rs 52.07 per US dollar in yesterday's trade after its eight-day losing streak was checked by fresh selling of the dollar by exporters.
