Singapore Open: PV Sindhu bows out after losing to Japan's Nozomi Okuhara in semifinal

In Badminton, Olympic silver medalist PV Sindhu bowed out of the Singapore Open today. In the semi-finals, the world number six, who was seeded fourth, lost to former world champion and second-placed Nozomi Okuhara of Japan, 7-21, 11-21. In the quarterfinals yesterday, Okuhara beat Saina Nehwal, 21-8, 21-13. Eighth seed Kidambi Srikanth and Sameer Verma also crashed out in the last-8 yesterday.

Singapore Open: Subhankar Dey, Ruthvika Shivani Gadde & Rituparna Das advance to second round

In badminton, Subhankar Dey, Ruthvika Shivani Gadde and former national champion Rituparna Das advanced to the second round of respective singles in the opening round of  Singapore Open today. India's best mixed doubles pair of Pranaav Jerry Chopra and N Sikki Reddy also entered the second round.
