Currency: Rupees strengthens 27 paise, settles at Rs 74.04 against US dollar

The rupee today strengthened 27 paise. The domestic currency settled at 74 rupees and four paise against the US dollar. The dollar index, which indicates the US dollar's strength against a basket of six other leading currencies, rose 0.2 percent to trade at 95.92 in intra-day trade.
