Sensex climbs 673 points; Nifty trades at 17,805

The Sensex and the Nifty today rose more than one percent. Both stocks gained amid positive global cues. The Sensex closed above 59,800 and the Nifty settled above the 17,800 level.  The BSE Sensex climbed 673 points, or 1.14 percent to trade at 59,856. The NSE Nifty also surged 180 points, or 1.02 percent, to trade at 17,805. In the broader market at BSE, the Mid-Cap added 0.05 percent and the Small-Cap index surged 0.39 percent.
