Business Roundup: Sensex and Nifty log modest losses; Rupee appreciates 8 paise to close at Rs 74.64 against US Dollar

The Sensex and the Nifty today logged modest losses. Both stocks fell around 0.3 per cent amid mixed global cues. The Sensex declined below the 52,500 mark while the Nifty ended below 15,700 level.  The BSE Sensex fell 183 points, or 0.35 per cent to trade at 52,386.
