Business Roundup: Sensex and Nifty close with gains of more than half a per cent; Rupee appreciates 12 paise against Dollar

The Sensex and the Nifty today closed with gains of more than half a per cent. The domestic stocks rose even amid positive global cues. The Sensex finished above the 52,500 mark while the Nifty settled near 15,800 level. The Rupee appreciated 12 paise against the US currency.  The Sensex climbed 393 points, or 0.75 per cent, to end at 52,699.
