Rupee depreciates against dollar

The Indian rupee depreciated by 6 paise to 44.42 rupees a dollar in the opening trade today, weighed down by dollar's gain against other Asian currencies. However, continued capital inflows by foreign funds into equities, capped Rupee's losses.
