Rupee down by 19 paise against US dollar

The Indian rupee dropped further by 19 paise to 49.45 per US dollar in early trade on Wednesday. A forex dealer said, sustained dollar demand from banks and importers in view of the higher dollar in global markets mainly affected the rupee value against the dollar.
