Crude prices rose in Asian trade today. New York's main contract, light sweet crude for delivery in January, gained 40 cents to 94.28 dollar a barrel. Brent North Sea crude for February delivery was up 43 cents to 104.07 dollar.

The Indian rupee fell by 11 paise to Rs 52.97 per US dollar in early trade. The rupee had lost 16 paise to close at Rs 52.87 against the US dollar in the previous session.
