Rupee trims initial losses but still down 22 paise against dollar

The rupee trimmed its initial losses today but still it quoted down by 22 paise to 54.47 per dollar. In the early trade, it lost 32 paise against the dollar due to appreciation of the US currency. However, it recovered slightly due to some selling by exporters to quote 54.47 per dollar.
