Zero tolerance for inappropriate behavior towards women: UGC direction to campuses says HRD Min

The government is making all efforts to sensitize the youth and the community for observing appropriate behaviour and proper etiquette towards women.

Releasing the National Book Trust (NBT) Annual calendars and Planner marking the 150th birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, HRD Minister M M Pallam Raju said, the great saint's teachings are relevant today for proper education and social upliftment of the society.

He said, following the recent gangrape incident in Delhi, the UGC has written to the Universities for maintaining Zero tolerance towards inappropriate behaviour to women in campuses.The minister also said, Swami Vivekananda through his teachings, motivated the youth to imbibe moral values to strengthen their character.

Our correspondent reports, the NBT Desk Calender carries Swami Vivekananda quotes every month while the Wall Calendar has focussed on the North east India and tribal culture.
