Young talent can help India transform into Science and technology hub: Nobel laureates

Nobel laureates attending the 103rd Indian Science Congress felt that India has young talented human resource that can transform India into Science and Technology hub. Interacting with media persons during ongoing National Science Congress in Mysuru today, they felt that the country needs to increase its budgetary allocation for R&D and mentoring in pure science. <br/><br/>Particle Physicist David J Gross said that attractive remuneration to teachers of basic science will attract talented youngsters to this field. Nobel laureate in Chemistry Prof Dan Schechtman stressed for a need to encourage entrepreneurship and start ups at University and Research Centre level. Nobel winners John B Gurdon and Prof. Serge Haroche were of the opinion that priority should be to appoint good science teachers.
