Young MPs appeal youth of Kashmir valley to exercise restraint

A group of 40 young MPs cutting across party lines has appealed the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to exercise restraint as dialogue is the only way forward for seeking solution of their problems. In a statement issued in New Delhi yesterday, the MPs maintained that world is looking towards India as the country is at the thresh hold of joining the developed nation's club. They added that they are of the firm belief that this can be achieved if all the youth are equal stake holders in it.Prominent among those who signed the appeal include Priya Dutt, Deepender Hooda, Milind Deora and Jyoti Mirdha (Congress), Anurag Thakur (BJP), Akhilesh Yadav (SP), Shatabdi Roy (Trinamool Congress), Supriya Sule (NCP), Bhavna Gavli (Shiv Sena).The appeal came close on the heels of 10 BJP legislators from Jammu and Kashmir meeting the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh in New Delhi. Accompanied by senior BJP leaders, they expressed concern over the situation in the border state and alleged that the Omar Abdullah government has failed to deal with the situation.A group of senior Congress leaders from Jammu and Kashmir also met the Prime Minister on Wednesday to discuss the issue.
