Yemen's President has declared a nationwide state of emergency after the death of a number of protestors during anti-government demonstration in capital Saana. In a news conference, Interior Minister Mutahar al Masri said that 25 people were killed and about 102 injured from both sides while reports quoting Yemeni doctors say, 46 were killed and 200 injured in attacks of pro government armed people. The interior minister also informed that some houses were burned and looted and that some of the owners of the houses were arrested on the charges of attacks on protestors. Yemen is facing continuous demonstrations against President Saleh who is in power for more than 32 years. Reports say that demonstrations are continuing in various cities in Yemen. UN Secretary-General has deplored the killing of Yemeni protesters. In a statement, he called for utmost restraint and reminded the Government of Yemen that it has an obligation to protect civilians.
