The reports from Yemen say that an Al Qaeda leader and 10 soldiers have been killed in the battle in south of the country. The leader of the Yemen-based Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), Ayad Al Shabwani, was killed by artillery fire during heavy fighting near Zinjibar which is the capital of Abyan province. Medical sources said that 10 soldiers had been killed and 33 wounded in the fighting. Yemen’s Deputy Information Minister Abdo Al Janadi told a news conference in the capital Sana that the United States provided logistical support to the 25th Mechanized Brigade.
