The B S Yeddyurappa government which is reduced to minority due to withdrawal of support by some dissidents has to prove their majority on the floor of the house today in Karnataka. The State Assembly has the strength of 224 members including the Speaker and 113 is required to prove majority. Governor Hansraj Bharadwaj has issued directions to the Speaker K.G. Boppaiah not to alter the strength of the house before the floor test. The Speaker however, has said that ruling about show cause notices to 11 dissident BJP MLAs issued for anti-party activities will be pronounced today. The city police commissioner Shankar Bidri has issued prohibitory orders under section 144 from dawn to dusk today as a preventive measure. Assembly Speaker K.G. Boppaiah has disqualified 11 BJP MLAs for anti-party activities. The Speaker has also disqualified 5 independent MLAs on the basis that they were supporting the government, and still indulged in activities that were against government.
