Former Chief Minister of Karnataka B S Yeddyurappa’s interim bail plea case was adjourned till Friday by the Karnataka High Court.Yeddyurappa has appealed against lower court order which had rejected his bail in two cases on denotification of land filed by Sirajin Basha.The senior counsel for Yeddyurappa, Uday Lalith argued on Thursday that all the documents related to the denotification case is with the court and hence the question of tampering with evidence does not arise.AIR Correspondent reports, the counsel for Yeddyurappa, Uday Lalith argued today that his client has not benefitted from the denotification of land as alleged by the complainant Sirajin Basha.He said Yeddyurappa only exercised the powers vested in Chief Minister to denotify lands and it was the various departments that issued the orders.Pleading for interim bail to Yeddyurappa, his counsel said the question of influencing witnesses and tampering evidence did not arise at all. Lalit is expected to complete arguments on Friday after which the counsel for complainant, Hanumantharaya will begin his reply.Yeddyurappa is under Judicial custody till October 22. The extension of custody depends upon the High court order on interim bail. Complainant Sirajin Basha has alleged in his complaint that Yeddyurappa denotified lands in Arakere, Agara, Devarachikkanahalli, Geddalahalli in favour of his kith and kin,causing huge losses to the state exchequer.
