Yeddyurappa requests PM to constitute panel to probe phone tapping

As a counter measure against allegations made against him on phone tapping, Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa has requested Prime Minister to constitute a high level Committee to probe the charges. Speaking to the media persons in Bangalore on Monday, the Chief Minister said he will not only resign as Chief Minister but also from politics if the charges of phone tapping are proved. He informed that he has written to the Prime Minister to constitute the committee headed by External Affairs Minister S M Krishna, also making former Prime Minister Deve Gowda and Lokayuktha Santhosh Hedge as its members.The Chief Minister also said that he has requested BJP National President to constitute another committee to probe all charges against him and his family members. Charging the Opposition of mud slinging, the Chief Minister said they are jealous of the development taking place in the state and hence are trying to topple his government. He said series of public meetings will be organized next month to make things clear to the people.
