Yeddyurappa asks Shetter to dissolve Karnataka Assembly and seek fresh vote:

Former Karnataka Chief Minister, B S Yeddyurappa has openly challenged Chief Minister Jagadish Shetter to dissolve the Assembly and seek fresh mandate. Speaking at the launch of the Karnataka Janatha Party, a regional party floated by him, Yeddyurappa said the BJP Government in the State survives due to his support and hence Shetter should not talk of taking disciplinary action against legislators loyal to him. He blamed a few BJP leaders for conspiring against him and causing his exit. He cited the example of Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu to drive home the argument that regional parties are much more effective in safeguarding the state interest. He informed that he will undertake a statewide tour to drum up support for his party. The public function organised in Haveri was attended by 13 MLAs of the BJP Government. They also shared dais with Mr. Yeddyurappa. One of the MLAs, B P Harish challenged BJP to take action against them for attending the convention. BJP had warned repeatedly that those who attend the convention will have to face disciplinary action.
