Year Ender Series: Skill India an initiative of Govt to empower youth with skill sets, making them more employable

National Skill Development Mission also known as Skill India Mission was launched on 15th July, 2015 to provide a strong institutional framework to implement and scale up skill development efforts across the country.<br />”<br />”Addressing the youth on the occasion of World Youth Skills Day in July last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had stressed on the need to give impetus to the Skill India Mission by adding full strength to the new institutions that were formed in the last six years.<br />”<br />”Mr. Modi also laid emphasis on skill development in the country saying it is a national requirement and a major foundation for Atmanirbhar Bharat.<br />”&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<br />”AIR correspondent reports that the Skill India programme is a smart initiative that works toward the development of the country as a whole.<br />”<br />”Skill India is an initiative of the Government to empower the youth with skill sets, making them more employable.<br />”<br />”The Skill India programme has numerous benefits and its objective is to enable youth to take up training in order to secure a better livelihood. Over one crore youth are getting trained every year under the Skill India Mission.<br />”<br />”Under the Pradhanmantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna more than one crore 25 lakh young persons have been trained. Around 11 lakh candidates have been trained under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalaya Yojana and around seven lakh got placement.&nbsp;</span><br />
