Yasmeen Batool becomes first woman to represent Ladakh in archery in 2020 Khelo India Games

Thus, Ladakhi men and women have made their mark in fields as diverse as medicine, engineering, aviation, security forces, mountaineering, long distance running, taekwondo etc.</span><br />” <span style="color: #222222;"><br />” However, there are several traditional fields and sports from which women have been excluded so far.<br />” <br />” One such traditional sport is &nbsp;archery, which has &nbsp;been practiced &nbsp;by men only. Thankfully the situation &nbsp;is also changing now. &nbsp;<br />” <br />” Women are coming to participate in the event. Yasmeen Batool, &nbsp;from Chanchik in Kargil &nbsp;became the first woman to represent the Union Territory of Ladakh in the 2020 Khelo India Games held in Guwahati, Assam.<br />” <br />” Yasmeen Batool said that it was a great &nbsp;opportunity &nbsp;for her to represent Ladakh in a national event.&nbsp;</span><br />” &nbsp;<br />
