In a major breakthrough, Indian Mujahideen co-founder Yasin Bhatkal was arrested from the Indo-Nepal border today. Official sources said, one of India's most wanted terrorists, 30-year-old Yasin, was on the run for over five years. He is a key accused in Hyderabad and Mumbai blasts cases. Yasin was picked up by security agencies along with another IM member Akhtar. They are being brought to Delhi.
Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde has confirmed the arrest of Yasin Bhatkal. Talking to reporters in New Delhi today, Mr Shinde said, he was arrested from Indo-Nepal border and is presently under the custody of the Bihar police. The Home Minister added that Bhatkal was picked by the Intelligence agencies last night and the interrogation is still going on.
