The Yamuna river in the National Capital is flowing above the danger mark following heavy downpour in its catchment areas. The current water level of the river has risen to 205 meter which is 17 cm above danger mark. Around 6.5 lakh cusec water have been released into the river since last two days from Hathini Kund Barrage in Haryana .Talking to AIR, the Chief Engineer of Delhi Flood Control Department, Mr. V.P.S Tomar said that water level may rise tomorrow afternoon and expected to cross 206.35 meter. He said that adequate pumping arrangements have been made and regular patrolling of embankments is being carried out.AIR Correspondent reports that Delhi government has sounded flood alert in the low-lying areas and the affected people are being shifted to the safer places.
