With rains continuously lashing Delhi and its adjoining areas, the water level in river Yamuna has crossed the danger level. The river is flowing 11 cm above the danger mark of 204.83 metres. Chief Enginer of Flood Control Department V P S Tomar said the level had increased due to water being released from Haryana. People living in low lying areas along the bank have been evacuated. The capital has been experiencing incessant rains in the past three days with 24.9 mm of rainfall being recorded in the last 24 hours. According to the MET department Delhi has received more than 600 mm of rainfall this season which almost 20 percent above normal.
