Yamuna above danger level

The water level in the Yamuna river today reached 206.18 metres, 1.35 metres above the danger mark, following the release of 7.44 lakh cusecs of water by Haryana. According to Delhi Irrigation and Flood Control department, the water level in the river is increasing at the speed of 3.4 cm per hour. The water level in the river has crossed 206 metres mark at around 1200 hrs today, which has forced authorities to close the Old Railway Bridge.According to railway sources , train services across the Old Railway Bridge have been suspended and diverted to other routes as precautionary measures .
