Yachting Association of India begins national team selection process for Asian Games Sailing competition<br/>

The Yachting Association of India, YAI has begun the national team selection process for the Asian Games Sailing competition scheduled to be held in South Korea from 20th September to 4th October this year. The YAI is holding a ten-day regatta which began in Visakhapatnam yesterday.More than 130 sailors in 14 different classes of boats and over thirty additional members comprising international judges, race officers and measurers invited by the Yachting Association of India (YAI) will ensure smooth conduct and fair selection.The Selection Regatta is being organized under the aegis of the Headquarters of Eastern Naval Command of the Indian Navy, which is providing the requisite administrative support for managing the Racing area and also for providing rescue support. The participating teams include, Army Yachting Node, Chennai Sailing Academy and the Indian Naval Watermanship Training Centre (INWTC). The selections are being held at the Rushikonda beach till 16th of April, as the very testing conditions, wind shifts and strong current in the race area here are similar to those likely to be faced by the National team at Inchon, South Korea, which is to be the venue for the Competition in September.
