In Andhra Pradesh, Kadapa Lok Sabha member Y S Jaganmohan Reddy today decided to quit the Congress party. He revealed this in an open letter to Congress President Sonia Gandhi this morning. Stating that he has been suffering humiliation in silence over the political developments that had taken place in the last 14 months, Jaganmohan Reddy said he has no other option but leave the party. He said he would also resign from Lok Sabha membership while his mother Vijaya Lakshmi, who is representing Pulivendula constituency in the state Assembly will also quit. Alleging that a conspiracy was being hatched against him, Jagan said he was shocked and deeply hurt at the politics and attempts to lure his uncle Vivekananda Reddy with cabinet berth. He said baseless allegations were lodged against him to isolate and send him out of the party. Jagan has been increasingly hostile towards party high command for the past few days. He continued his ‘Consoling Tour- odarpu yatra’ against the wishes of high command and a television channel owned by him launched even negative campaign against party leadership. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister is slated to hold a meeting with Praja Rajyam Party President Chiranjeevi apparently to acquire support for his new Government.
