The World Trade Organization, WTO, lowers 2015 global trade forecast to 2.8 percent. WTO, has revised its forecast for global trade growth in 2015 in the face of a slowdown in the economies of emerging countries. The forecast released now predicts 2.8 percent year-on-year growth for this year.Its April estimate was 3.3 percent growth. Economists at the organization say economic slowdowns in China, Brazil and other emerging economies are putting a damper on their imports. They also said falling crude oil prices and currency market swings are holding back growth in global trade.
