WTO issue: PM stresses need to move forward simultaneously on all agreements, including food security reached at Bali

The Prime Minister has reiterated India's commitment to the understandings reached at the Bali conference of WTO.

In his meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of UK Nick Clegg in New Delhi yesterday, Mr. Narendra Modi emphasized the need to move forward simultaneously on all the agreements reached in Bali, including on food security, to address the interests of all sections of society, particularly the poor.

The Prime Minister also called for greater collaboration between India and United Kingdom in education, skills development, clean energy, infrastructure development and cleaning of rivers.

The Prime Minister also called upon the international community to take steps to provide clean technology to developing and under-developed countries at affordable prices.
During the meeting, Mr. Clegg conveyed UK’s strong desire to further strengthen and deepen relations with India.
