WTA Family Circle Cup tennis: Sania enters pre-quarterfinals

Sania Mirza has entered the pre-quarterfinals of the WTA Family Circle Cup tennis tournament in the United States. In the second round at Charleston, Sania defeated Vania King in three sets 6-7, 6-4, 6-2. King had ousted 16th seed Russian Vera Dushevina in their opening round.In the first round of the U.S. Men's Clay Court championship at Houston, Somdev Devvarman recorded a thumping 6-2, 6-1 win over America's Robert Kendrick. It was Somdev's second win over Kendrick, ranked nine places below him at 80. In the second round, Somdev will clash with Spanish third seed and world number 26 Guillermo Garcia-Lopez, who got a bye in his first round of the the 442,500 U.S. dollar event.
